Matthew Moss

Matthew Moss, CAI

Matthew Moss, CAI, is one of the co-owners of Moss Auction Team, LLC. He graduated from Reppert School of Auctioneering in December of 1998 and is a licensed auctioneer in both Illinois and Indiana. His auction company specializes in the marketing of both agricultural and residential real estate, agricultural equipment, antiques and collectibles and personal property. He plays a large role in managing their auction staff in preparing, promoting and conducting their auctions held in both Illinois and Indiana. Matthew is an active member in the National Auctioneers Association, as well as the Illinois and Indiana State Auctioneers Associations and he is the Chairman for District 7 of the Illinois State Auctioneers Association.

Matthew graduated from the University of Illinois in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural/Animal Science. He is also involved in the managing aspect of the family farming operation consisting of 3,500 acres of a grain and livestock business that has been in the Moss Family since 1866. On the Moss farm, Matthew also oversees the family’s Clydesdale breeding operation. His family raises show quality black Clydesdale horses that are exhibited on a national level.

Matthew lends a hand with many local fund raising events every year such as the annual 4H food and livestock auction, his area’s YMCA fund raiser auction, the Paris Young Farmers annual auction to raise scholarship funds for students pursuing careers in Agriculture, the Relay for Life American Cancer Society charity auction in his county and the annual auction for the local chapter of the Pheasants Forever.  He is a member of the First Christian Church in Paris, Illinois and he is also serves as an elected Trustee for Edgar Township. He is married to Bridget Moss, who is a graduate from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agribusiness Farm and Financial Management. She is employed by Cargill, Inc. and she also owns and enjoys working with horses.

Larry Moss – Gone, but Never Forgotten

February 2, 1938 – August 26, 2014

Larry Moss has been in the Auction and Real Estate businesses for more than 45 years and is one of the co-owners of Moss Auction Team, LLC. He is a licensed auctioneer in Illinois and Indiana. Larry and the Moss Auction Team conduct auctions consisting mainly of farmland, agriculture equipment, heavy equipment, commercial property as well as household goods, antiques and collectibles auctions. These auctions have been conducted in Vermilion, Edgar, Douglas, Coles, Clark, Dewitt, Edwards, McLean and Marion counties in Illinois and Vigo, Vermilion, and Park counties in Indiana.

Larry is the co-owner/manager of a 3,500-acre grain and livestock operation in partnership with his brother that has been in his family since 1866. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1959 with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture. Larry has served on numerous boards and positions connected to the agriculture world. He is an Approved Appraiser for the Illinois Farm Development Authority. He is married to Roseann Moss, who is also a co-owner of Moss Auction Team, LLC and they have two sons and two grandchildren. Their youngest son, Matthew is also one of the co-owners of Moss Auction Team, LLC. In his free time, Larry enjoys collecting/restoring/showing antique tractors. He has a very extensive collection and he participates in several antique/historical farming shows throughout the year. Also, Larry is involved in the family’s Clydesdale horse breeding and showing operation.

Amber Tegeler is the Office Manager for Moss Auction Team, Wolf Mound Farms and Moss Clydesdales. She has been with the company since March of 2012 and has 5 years of industry experience behind her before joining our team. She studied business management and accounting at Ivy Tech Community College. She is strongly involved with the handling all the clerical and cashiering needs for the auctions, in addition to managing the accounting needs for all the three business. Amber is married to Jason Tegeler and together they have a daughter, Makenzie Tegeler, who is also employed part time by Moss Auction Team as an auction clerk.  Amber and her family enjoy traveling and taking care of their many pets.

The Moss Auction Team is capable of handling any size of Auction for a one individual owner or an Auction for multiple owners. Their team can put together an advertising campaign that can cover the Midwest for all types of Auctions. They can put together fliers/sale bills of any kind that can include a wide range of sizes, the use of color pictures, and personal design.
